The River brings hope and support to those who are at their most vulnerable and with your help, we can continue to improve circumstances for families across Manchester.

 

Our mission is to provide relief and support for people who have suffered, or are in danger of suffering, from social and emotional difficulties, whether fleeing domestic violence, undergoing trauma and abuse, involved in prostitution, alcohol and drug abuse, being in debt, self harm or in fear of their lives. We assist by providing food, clothing, furniture, training and further assistance where possible.

Our primary aim is to bring hope and support to those facing of fleeing Domestic Violence and to empower them to create a better life for themselves. We provide a space space for people to share their lives and stories within a work-structured environment. Our flagship Training, Enterprise, Nurture (TEN) scheme has benefited over 70 people since its launch in 2014. Some of our clients self-refer, some are referred by other agencies familiar with the range of services we offer.

Our board of trustees and volunteers are passionate about restoring hope and helping the people we work with realise their true potential and self-worth. We take a human and holistic approach to working with individuals and support their progress by creating and increasing confidence and celebrating all achievements.

Our core values are rooted in respect, dignity, integrity and freedom. We are motivate by our faith and believe that people are entitled to a wonderful and abundant life.
